Capital One Venture X Lounge Network Expands
Navigating a busy airport is often the most stressful part of travel. Fortunately, the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card is changing that experience. The bank is aggressively expanding its premium airport lounge network and adding impressive partner locations, making the Venture X card one of the most powerful tools for frequent flyers.
The Growing Roster of Capital One Branded Lounges
When Capital One introduced the Venture X card, they promised a network of custom, high-end airport lounges to rival the American Express Centurion network. They are delivering on that promise. These branded spaces offer premium amenities, excellent food, and a relaxing environment away from crowded terminal gates.
Currently, cardholders can visit three flagship Capital One Lounges:
- Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW): Located in Terminal D near Gate D22, this was the first Capital One Lounge to open. It features high-speed Wi-Fi, a cycling studio with Peloton bikes, relaxation rooms, and shower suites.
- Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD): Opened in September 2023, this lounge sits just beyond TSA PreCheck in the Main Terminal. It offers a premium coffee bar, locally sourced pastries, and excellent views of the runway.
- Denver International Airport (DEN): Opened in November 2023 in Concourse A, this 10,800-square-foot space leans heavily into its Colorado location. It features craft beer from local breweries, unique relaxation rooms, and a massive grab-and-go food section for travelers rushing to their gates.
Inside these locations, all food and drinks are complimentary. You will find premium craft cocktails, cold brew coffee on tap, and restaurant-quality tapas. If you are short on time, the grab-and-go coolers are stocked with fresh sandwiches, salads, and fresh pressed juices.
Future Expansion: Capital One Landings
Capital One is not just building traditional lounges. They are also introducing a new concept called Capital One Landings. These locations are designed for urban airports where space is too limited for a massive flagship lounge.
Capital One is partnering with the José Andrés Group to create these culinary-focused spaces. The focus will be on exceptional food and beverage options right near the gates. The first two Capital One Landings are currently under construction at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) and New York LaGuardia Airport (LGA).
A Massive Partner Network
While the branded lounges are the star attraction, the Venture X card also unlocks doors to thousands of other locations worldwide. Capital One has partnered with two major lounge networks to ensure you have a place to relax no matter where you fly.
Priority Pass Select
Your Venture X card includes a complimentary Priority Pass Select membership. You must enroll through the Priority Pass website after receiving your credit card. Once activated, this membership grants you access to more than 1,300 airport lounges globally. Whether you are flying out of London Heathrow or a small regional airport in Asia, you will likely find a Priority Pass location.
Plaza Premium Group
Capital One expanded the Venture X network by adding full access to Plaza Premium lounges. This adds over 100 high-quality lounges to your roster. The Plaza Premium network includes highly rated locations in major international hubs like Rome Fiumicino, Toronto Pearson, and Hong Kong International.
This partnership also includes access to select Virgin Atlantic Clubhouses in the United States, including locations at New York (JFK) and San Francisco (SFO), offering an incredibly premium pre-flight experience.
The Best Value for Families and Groups
The Capital One Venture X charges a $395 annual fee. When you compare this to the Chase Sapphire Reserve ($550) or the American Express Platinum Card ($695), the Venture X is already a bargain. However, the guest policies make it an unbeatable value.
Primary cardholders enjoy unlimited access to Capital One Lounges, Plaza Premium locations, and Priority Pass lounges. Furthermore, you can bring up to two guests with you for free on every visit. Additional guests cost $45 each.
The absolute best perk is the authorized user policy. You can add up to four authorized users to your Venture X account for exactly zero dollars. Each authorized user receives their own physical credit card and their own lounge access privileges. Your free authorized users can enter Capital One Lounges and bring two of their own guests for free, even if you are not traveling with them. They can also register for their own Priority Pass accounts.
How to Access the Lounges
Getting into the lounges is simple. When you arrive at a Capital One Lounge or Plaza Premium location, present your physical Venture X card (or the card in your digital wallet) alongside a same-day boarding pass.
To make the experience smoother, you should download the Capital One mobile app. The app features a dedicated lounge tab that shows real-time capacity at the DFW, IAD, and DEN locations. If a lounge is full, you can join the digital waitlist while you are still walking through the terminal. The app will notify you the moment your table is ready.
